The Poor People's Campaign
Virginia is deeply racist and its democracy is flawed both economically and socially. A Black revolution is much more than a struggle for the rights of “negroes”. It is forcing America to face all its inter-related flaws: racism, poverty, militarism, and materialism. It is exposing evils that are rooted deeply in the whole structure of our society. It reveals systemic rather than superficial flaws and suggest that radical reconstruction of society itself is the issue to be faced.
We must not forget that radical and revolutionary movement must be our vision if we are to ensure the redistribution of economic and political power, and that this be our central requirements to our success for bridging the gulf between the haves and the have nots.
The goals of the Poor People’s Campaign must continue so we must seek to question imperialism and materialism. America is at its sickest and we must come together as the doctors of the kings and queens, men and women to offer a holistic healing before the 21st century is upon us.
